Provides professional pharmaceutical services to students at CSULB Student Health Services.
Furthermore, the incumbent provides services that are equitable, inclusive and provide culturally sensitive services that enhance the quality of campus life. This position uses a student centered and equity minded approach in all communication and service efforts.

Key Responsibilities
- Fill and dispense prescriptions - Accurately enter patient information into computer. Prints, attaches labels to prescription with proper warning labels. Accurately counts proper quantity of drug(s) to be dispensed.
- Maintain detailed prescription records.
- Keep current on advances and compliance of pharmacy with all state and federal licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Provide support in developing formularies, Family PACT billing, inventory control and staffing - Serve as chair of Student Health formulary committee. Verify eligibility of and billing of Family PACT for medication dispensed. Coordinates schedule of hourly intermittent (per diem) pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to ensure adequate coverage as needed for pharmacy to reopen during Student Health regular business hours.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Family PACT program and billing. Knowledge of EMR, preferably Point & Click Solutions. Knowledge of Kalos Software. Knowledge of Facts & Comparisons. Knowledge and development of formularies. Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. Experience working with a diverse group of individuals, providing professional service. Occasional coverage outside usual and customary SHS hours, including evenings and weekends. Oral communication skills to communicate diplomatically and effectively with co-workers, staff and departmental staff. Demonstrated ability to oversee daily pharmacy operations.
Ability to work as part of a team through close collaboration with colleagues and coordinate with others. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and maintain a positive and respectful attitude. Ability to work effectively and productively as part of a team. Ability to consistently report to work on time prepared to perform the duties of the position. Ability to consistently be present at job/work. Ability to follow work protocols, safe work practices, and maintain a working knowledge of standard safety procedures. Ability to multitask, follow up, and meet deadlines.
Adhere to professional standards, policies, clinician protocols, and regulations established by Student Health Services. Complies with HIPAA Health Care Privacy and Security Law. Complies with SHS policies, procedures, and guidelines. Computer skills strongly preferred for health information technology. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with university students and convey pharmaceutical information.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from a recognized and accredited college of pharmacy program as defined by the California Board of Pharmacy and three years of experience working in a pharmacy setting required. Possession of valid license to practice as a registered pharmacist, as defined and required by the California State Board of Pharmacy required.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $7,615 - $14,699 per month.

1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment
This is a temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
